The 2006 test and benchmarking activity on behalf of the EU under the Safer Internet Action Plan plus has revealed some interesting statistics and information regarding the use of filtering and blocking services across the EU. The headline results from this showed that there was a wide discrepancy in the ability to install and use the products available and when installation was achieved there was a large divide between the services offered by the various products. The IWF provide this information so that users can decide which product may be most suitable for their needs.
The Get Safe Online website is the result of a joint campaign between HM Government, the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (formerly the National Hi-Tech Crime Unit), part of the National Crime Squad and private sector sponsors from the worlds of technology, retail and finance. The website is a one-stop-shop for reliable, up-to-date information about online safety, to give home users and small businesses the advice they need to use the Internet safely.
On our "Filtering Solutions" page, you will find a list of IWF members that offer filtering solutions to home and professional internet users.
Please note the IWF has not tested any of these filtering companies, we have listed them to offer internet users a choice and allow you to select the company that best meets your needs.
