Question: Is it safe to buy goods at an online auction?

Answer: In many cases it is safe, however always read the FAQs on the auction sites and note the safeguard advice given.

Question: I have bought goods on an online auction and haven’t received them.  Who shall I contact?

Answer: Initially contact the online auction site at the addresses given below. If this is unsuccessful Trading Standards.

Question: I have received an email from my Auction site asking me to re-input my private details. It looks genuine, but I am concerned, what should I do?
 
Answer: Your Auction site will never ask you to re-input your details. If you are unsure about the authenticity of the email or the site, you should contact your Auction site and ask them if they have requested the information. This is most likely an attempt at phishing.
