The IWF is funded by the EU and member companies from the online industry, including internet service providers (ISPs), mobile operators, content  providers, hosting providers, filtering companies, search providers, trade associations and the financial sector. We work together to ensure UK networks provide a hostile environment for hosting child sexual abuse images and to protect UK internet users from inadvertent exposure to such content.

Member companies fall into one of two categories: Full or Associate members. Full members are defined as those able to take down online content and are subject to the IWF Code of Practice. Associate members are companies that support the objectives of the IWF and the IWF Code of Practice but do not host online content, for example filtering companies.

A representative from each subscribing company is entitled to membership of the Funding Council.

Being a member of the IWF offers many benefits including  evidence of corporate social responsibility,  a role in the UK’s self-regulatory framework for dealing with criminal content online, publicity, invitations to events, access to information, resources, expertise and a range of services.

For information about becoming a member of the IWF please email: members@iwf.org.uk

We are grateful to all our members for their continued funding and support of our work.
