IWF regional road show

Thank you to all of you who attended our regional conferences, in Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Bristol. We addressed around 100 key professionals at each event and are particularly grateful to the local MPs who acted as hosts and to the regional television presenters who skilfully chaired our panel discussions.

The conferences were a resounding success. Here are some of the headlines:

100 pieces of coverage have already been generated by the campaign, including:

  • Daily Mail
  • The Times
  • Metro
  • The Sun
  • The Mirror
  • BBC Online
  • Radio 5 Live
  • Radio 4
  • Sky News
  • Two page profile in New Media Age
  • Reuters
  • PA

Securing coverage on Reuters and PA generated numerous articles overseas, including Russia, US, Japan, Italy, Singapore, India, Canada, France, Germany and Bermuda.

The BBC Online piece was the 5th most read UK story on the BBC site on launch day - 24 October, and peaked at the 2nd most read story overall.

There have been 20 press interviews during the course of the campaign and local radio interviews took place at the regional events

The IWF anniversary provoked comment and debate on 52 blogs – all specifically focused around the ten year anniversary and the campaign has also driven visitors to the IWF website, increasing them by 26 per cent over the road show period.

The valuable networking parts of the events brought together different key groups and gave them the chance to exchange views, establish relationships and come up with new initiatives. The events have also provided the opportunity to distribute information and collateral to a wide array of professionals working in different areas.

Our advertising in each region coincided with each of the events and we hope many of you had an opportunity to see examples in your area.

Phonebox advertising

6 sheet advertising

These designs will form the basis of much of our future communications material and can also be supplied as an online advert. All such IWF literature and adverts are freely available. To see what we supply and request materials, visit: http://www.iwf.org.uk/media/literature.htm.

Event branding

The IWF team were delighted to have the opportunity to go ‘on the road’ to get our important message out to so many people. We will be visiting Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh next year to run similar conferences and will be publicising details of these events in due course.

We would be very pleased to hear any comments on the ten year anniversary events. Please email roadshow@iwf.org.uk.
