IWF announces 7Safe as retained Information Security Advisers
7Safe Information Security joins the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) in the battle against illegal online content by providing the IWF with Information Security consulting services. 7Safe provides a diverse portfolio of services including Security Training & Certification, Penetration Testing (aka Ethical Hacking), Computer Forensic Investigation and Risk Management (including BS 7799). 7Safe is independent of IT security vendors and their products, bringing the benefit of impartiality when enabling clients with the appropriate tools and knowledge necessary to secure their systems.
Information Security concerns all organisations to varying degrees, as shown by 7Safe's client list which includes high-profile government bodies such as the Police & Military as well as companies from the retail, finance, telecoms, oil, pharmaceutical and legal sectors.
Alan Phillips, Managing Director, 7Safe, commented:
"Through our work with Police Computer Crime Units, legal firms and the business community in general, we fully appreciate the prolific rise and scale of illegal internet
content. We are proud to be able to offer our expertise and help by sponsoring the IWF's cause in it's stance against such activities."
The complimentary services provided by 7Safe to IWF include membership of the Information Security Assurance (ISA) scheme, as well as additional consulting days to be used at the discretion of the IWF for penetration testing, training, forensic investigation and risk management services such as BS 7799.
The ISA scheme consists of an annual review designed to measure Information Security levels within an organisation against the acknowledged best practice standard (BS 7799). Resulting ISA reports will help the IWF to focus objectively on those areas of Information Security highlighted as needing attention.
Frank Glen, Operations Manager, IWF, added:
"The IWF are delighted to receive sponsorship from information security specialists 7Safe. The support of 7Safe will ensure that the IWF can continue to be up-to-date on all aspects of IT security which is integral to the effective operation of the organisation."
